Supply of PTFE Lined Self-Lubricating Bearings for Swiveling Chair Applications

TU line of Steel Backed, PTFE-lined self-lubricating bearings.

APPLICATION

Original equipment manufacturer (OEM), of special application swiveling chairs.

PROBLEM / CHALLENGE

The manufacturer was using an SAE 841 plain powdered metal bearing in their swiveling chair assemblies. The movement of the seats is generally a slow rotation. The assemblies were initially designed to support an average body weight of 175 lbs. The manufacturer wanted to extend the load range on the swivel bearing / bushing up to 220 lbs. while minimizing costs.

SOLUTION

Isostatic's broad line of stock TU steel backed self-lubricating bearings/bushings allowed the customer to extend the load of the product design at a very economical price.

RESULT

The manufacturer was able to extend the load range on the swivel bearing, allowing it to be applied to a broader range of applications which resulted in increased sales.
